Maria Bonita (“Pretty Maria”) is considered one of the most famous Mexican actresses of the golden era of Mexican Cinema. Born Maria Felix (April 8, 1914), she later became honored with the name La Dona. Maria Felix “La Dona” died April 8, 2002 at the age of 88, but her spirit lives on in the spicy mole sauces of Maria Bonita Restaurant.
