Discover the hidden history of Ventura  with a unique lecture and walking tour of the community. Learn of the Theodosia Burr sheppard Garden that put Ventura on the map and the placed that housed US troops in the dark days after Pearl Harbor in 1941, as well as the haunted history of Ventura’s Plaza Park and other sites. the event will also feature some of the colorful people who made Ventura their home, from Dr. Cephas Bard to writer Erle Stanley Gardner–and even a famed bandit who once worked as a bell hop at a local hotel before taking up a life of crime that terrorized the state for 20 years!  Many of these residents still walk, as ghosts!
