“Studio Sundays” classes at the Museum of Ventura County
Popular Adult Art Instruction Program Teaches Art in A Social Setting
The Museum Ventura County’s art instruction series, Studio Sunday, has provided a great reason for friends to gather at the museum and cultivate their inner artist. The Studio Sunday painting classes are taught by Mary Perez and Megan Bisbee of Vita Arts Center, and are open to all regardless of their level of expertise. The classes occur once a month on selected Sundays from 1-4 pm at the Museum of Ventura County. Each of the classes has a theme and style of painting or creating that evokes famous artists.
Sunday, May 22: “Van Gogh & Merlot”
Create Van Gogh’s distinctive almond blossom paintings in your own vibrant palette.
Sunday, June 26: “O’Keeffe, Flowers & Wine”
Note: This class will be held at the VITA Arts Center, 432 N. Ventura Ave.
Learn to draw the sensual shapes and gorgeous flowers of New Mexico maven Georgia O’Keeffe.
Sunday, July 17: “Color Me Happy: Mixed Media Inspired by Beatrize Milhazes”
Combine styles of painting, as Beatriz does with her mash-up of Brazilian Folk art and modernism.
Pre-paid reservations are being taken now.
