Join one of our startup book clubs and receive your first book for free!
Sign up at our Book Club Headquarters in Bank of Books, Ventura. Seven new Book Clubs will be beginning soon. The groups starting are:
- Mystery Book Lovers Club: ‘One for the Money’ by Janet Evanovich.
- National Bestsellers Club: ‘ The Time Traveler’s Wife’ by Audrey Niffenegger.
- Ladies Book Club: ‘And Ladies of the Club’ by Helen Hooven Santmyer.
- Military Book Club: Combat He Wrote’ by Charles Hudson and Ross R. Olney.
- Local Author Fiction Club: ‘ Wheeler: Trail in the Dust’ Richard G. Hubler.
- Christian Book Club: ‘ More than a Carpenter’ by Josh McDowell.
- The Single Book Club Mixer: ‘I Kissed Dating Goodbye’ by Joshua Harris
Owner Clarey Rudd states “this is a great way to meet new people, which often in a book club, can lead to long-time friendships. This is very safe time to become involved when everyone will be new in these groups, and the book being read is free! Come in now to get the book so you can read it before the groups start in March.”
Manager of Bank of Books, Rob, indicates that the book clubs will start in the month of March, so now is the time to pick up the book for the group they will participate in. Nancy, the Book Club Organizer, is available to discuss book club startups with people wanting to start their own unique book club. If people need training to start a book club, this service is also available.
A ‘Harry Potter Book Club’ will begin in March and meet regularly for 6 months, after school, beginning Thursday, March 24th at 4:30pm . So if one is reading the series or has already read, come and discuss each book. A Read the Book before the Movie ‘ Club will also be starting in March with its first book being ‘Same Kind of Different as Me, movie release is April 29th. (Books for these two clubs will not be free.)
Each Book Club will meet in the Living Room downstairs at Bank of Books 748 E. Main, Ventura.
Nancy encourages ones to come and sign-up now to reserve your space, as each group will be limited in size. (The first person to sign up gets to pick the day/time of the meeting.) Each book club will meet monthly with a new book being discussed.
