Red Brick Gallery’s newest show Rediscovered Redefined features a variety of artists who have taken a second look at a familiar place and captured it uniquely within their medium.  One of our newest artists, Cody Brown, whose photographs have a dreamlike painterly quality to them, his local scenes feel like mystical places far away and yet recognizable in some way.  Debra Hintz’s thick textured oils of the woods outside her backdoor take you to a world of vibrant color and seasonal beauty.  Tasia Erickson’s pastels of far away lands dance between a painterly and photorealistic quality, you can almost feel the textures of the leaves and cool water.  A few of the other featured artists include Jay Johnson’s oil landscapes of Ventura and beyond, Joe Cibere’s watercolors of soft and vibrant countryside scenes, Jim Martin’s above and below images of Ventura’s landmarks and Jen Livia’s vibrant acrylic local seascapes.  Red Brick encourages the public to join them for their Free Artist Reception October 12^th 6-9pm with snacks art demonstrations and artist talks.
