About the Book

It is not a journey for the faint of heart or soft of foot.  People embark on the five-hundred-mile, thirty-one day trek from the Pyrenees Mountains in France to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain for all sorts of reasons–religious, spiritual, physical and personal.  For author Kenneth R. Strange Jr. and his wife, Aurora, walking the Camino is about adventure and a lifelong love of Spain, both of which shine through in It’s Your Camino.

Infused with humor, grace, and a reverence for humanity, this is an uplifting tale about overcoming emotional and physical challenges in the pursuit of a dream.

Kenneth R. Strange Jr. fell in love with Spain while still in high school.  A former FBI agent, Strange has a thirst for travel and adventure that has taken him to more than sixty-five countries.

About the Author

Ken Strange was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and Long Island.  He began his career as a Spanish and ESL high school teacher in New York and later took a job s English teacher in Saudi Arabia at a school for the Saudi Arabian Royal Family.

Ken fell in love with Spain during a high school trip to Madrid.   In 1975, he spent a Junior Year abroad in Madrid, Spain with Marquette University where he first learned about the 500-Mile Camino to Santiago de Compostela. A chance encounter doing volunteer work in Mexico with Martin Sheen, actor of the Camino movie “The Way,” was part of the inspiration for Ken and his wife embarking on a journey of a lifetime.

Ken wrote his first book based upon that journey—“It’s Your Camino: One Couple’s 500-mile Pilgrimage Across Spain” which can be found in both English and Spanish.

A former FBI agent and current Private Investigator (Strange Investigations), he has a thirst for adventure and travel that has taken him to more than 65 countries. Ken graduated from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, and has a Masters in Liberal Studies from SUNY Stony Brook and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Phoenix, AZ.

He lives in Thousand Oaks, California, is married and has twin daughters.
