Guests will preview a 30-minute short from local cinematographer Angela Izzo.  Beyond Local is a personal journey through an art-centric and the musically talented community of Ventura California.  The film shows how our community fosters creativity as well its strong sense of apathy towards fame and financial reward.  While it shows how many local musicians are unafraid to remain in relative obscurity, most of these artists still struggle with the concept of breaking out beyond the local scene.  This film shares their hopes, feelings of loyalty towards Ventura, and their individual reasons for playing music.

A showcase of three local music photographers as well as music will follow the 30-minute film from several of the musicians featured in the film.  Audience members will have an opportunity to interact with the filmmakers, musicians and music photographers.  This event is open to the public with an optional donation.  There will be a no host bar.
