The Ink House opened in 1976 and was originally called Ventura Tattoo. In 1990 we changed the name and moved locations to Main Street in the old west end of town where it is now located. My first introduction to tattoos was in the mid 1950’s when my Father and Mother would take me to the Pike in Long Beach. The Pike was an old school version of Disneyland on the midway with several tattoo parlors. The Navy shipyard and base were nearby, not to mention an assortment of tough looking characters.
