ADA Access Ramp Replacement

Starting in mid-April and continuing through May 2014, the City of Ventura will be replacing the Access Ramps in the Downtown. The work will include access ramp improvements along Main St. between the Museum of Ventura County at 100 E. Main St. and Kalorama St.  This project will upgrade all of the affected ramps to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).  The ramps will be installed with red tactile concrete panels which will match the current brick patterned sidewalk areas.  To minimize disruptions to the Downtown, the City will require the contractor to complete the construction of each ramp location by the end of the day on Fridays so that Downtown visitors will be able to access these areas over weekends.

The contractor, Berry Engineering, will perform the work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7am and 3pm excluding holidays. We expect the project to be completed by Memorial Day 2014.

Signs will be posted on all affected streets three (3) days in advance to specify the estimated duration of construction in that area, parking restrictions, and contact information.

Every effort will be made to minimize inconveniences during the improvements. Please do not hesitate to call the numbers listed below if you have any questions or concerns.
