Upcoming Major Events directly in Downtown

Classics on the Coast Car Show – Saturday, September 6 on Main Street
This classics car show on Sept. 6 will run on Main Street from Ventura Avenue to Fir Street near the new Baby Stroller Center.
Main Stret will be closed at 6am and not reopen until 5pm. The event runs from 9am-3pm. Last year we had some complaints about cars revving their engines. This is NOT allowed and participants are aware. If you have any issues regarding revving, call Tami Tackett at (805) 551-0203. Any other problems, call Meredith. Last year, this event brought over 50,000 people Downtown. This is an opportunity to come up with a special promotion to attract attention! There will be also some awesome giveaways, like free coupons for an elo boost service from!

California Beer Festival – Sept 20 & 21
The annual craft beer tasting event is on Sat., the 20th and the more family oriented Blues & Brews BBQ Festival is on Sunday, the 21st, both in Mission Park. This festival consistency draws a large out-of-town audience for the weekend.

Color Run – October 18
The Color Run begins at the Fairgrounds and loops through Downtown via Hemlock Street to Main to the pedestrian/bike trail by the river. The run begins at 8am and ends around noon. This is another destination event that draws people from all over. DVP will be creating a special card that will go to all participants which details where they can go after the run for deals! You will know who took part because they will be covered in color! If you’d like to be a part of this promotion, please let Meredith know.

Harvest Moon Spooktacular – Oct. 25
This year, we will be partnering with Open Classroom to make the Spooktacular Festival bigger and better. We will be taking over the 300 block of Main and the Mini Park. There will be the usual Rocket Fizz Costume Contest at 3pm and the trick-or-treating throughout Downtown from 4-7pm. If you’d like to be a trick-or-treat stop, you must be open from 4-7pm and have plenty of candy. Last year, businesses went through more than 1,000 pieces. Please let Meredith know if you’d like to be on the map!
